    KC Certification

    KC Mark Necessity and Compulsory

    Anyone who wants to manufacture, import, distribute and/or sell products subjected to KC certification in Korea must undergo a certification process based on Korean standards. Testing has to be done by an in-country designated testing laboratory and relevant certification by the national institutes. If a KC-subjected product is manufactured, distributed, and/or sold without proper KC certification or falsely labeled, the concerned party shall be legally prosecuted by Korean authority which would be sentenced up to three(3) years in prison and/or fined up to 10 million Korean won.

    Consulting Process
    Product & Regulation
    Review    		 Analyze the technical standards and detailed specification of the product and then confirm them with related 18 laws and regulations.

    And define the related test scope and methods according to the 23 types of KC certification.

    Preparation &
    Application    		 Preparation of the formal KC certificate application with all required technical documents.
    Product Testing The product is tested by a designated testing laboratory authorized by the certification agency with the submitted samples

    and a formal test report shall be issued after completion if no failure happens.

    Factory Inspection
    (if applicable)    		 Certification body sends auditor to inspect the manufacturing plant and issue a factory audit report accordingly.

    Actual field audit takes 2-3 days.
    KC Certification
    Approval    		 Certification body reviews product test report with factory inspection results and issue a certificate

    if they pass the standards and requirements.
    Marking &
    Labeling    		 Certified products shall bear proper KC mark and label by standards
    Follow-Up
    Services    		 Periodic audit shall be conducted every two(2) years after certification(KC-Safety)

    and irregular post-market surveillance be done by the authorities, too
